The City of Dallas established the 3-1-1 service several years ago to improve non-emergency services for all citizens. Dallas residents can call 3-1-1, connect on the internet or access the service through a smart phone app. All emergency calls should go directly to the 9-1-1 service.

With the smart phone app, you can take a picture of the problem to send along with its location and description to better identify your specific concern. The free smart phone app is available for your iPhone or android devices. I have personally used the app several times and have found it to be easy to use and a highly effective way to monitor the resolution of your problem.

Once the request is entered, it is assigned a unique service request number used for tracking and accountability purposes. The request is then forwarded to the appropriate department to resolve the concern. You can then monitor the resolution of your problem using the tracking number through the internet or app.

  • Streets & Traffic
  • Health & Environment
  • Tourism
  • Housing & Homes
  • Trash, Graffiti & High Weeds
  • Parking
  • Utilities
  • Garbage roll cart replacement

If you cannot find an appropriate service request category on either the website or mobile app, or you feel that your request is urgent/hazardous in nature, please call 3-1-1 directly. Agents are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to take your call. When in doubt call 3-1-1.
